In a bold move to bolster operational transparency and efficiency, the Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) has unveiled a state-of-the-art control room at its headquarters in Makurdi. This strategic development marks a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing efforts to modernize its business oversight systems and streamline the management of its Special Business Units (SBUs).
Equipped with cutting-edge surveillance technology and advanced data analytics tools, the control room is designed to provide real-time monitoring of BIPC’s diverse operations. From business performance tracking to security and compliance assessments, the facility offers a comprehensive suite of capabilities aimed at supporting data-driven decision-making.
The initiative is the brainchild of BIPC’s Managing Director, Dr. Raymond Asemakaha-CFA, whose vision is to create a more transparent and responsive operational framework. By integrating technology into core business processes, the company aims to boost productivity, enhance accountability, and strengthen its capacity to tackle emerging challenges in the dynamic public enterprise space.
During a guided tour of the facility, Head of Corporate Communications and Information Technology (CCIT), Mrs. Joyce Isiaku, emphasized the transformative impact the control room is expected to have on the company’s performance.
“This facility will allow us to monitor our business outlets, identify areas of concern quickly, and make data-driven decisions that improve service delivery and profitability,” she said.
Mrs. Isiaku further noted that the control room will oversee a broad spectrum of BIPC’s investments, including the bread factories located at George Akume Way and Naka Road, water factories at Tse-Ayu and beside the BIPC headquarters, as well as the company’s printing press and nails factory.
To ensure optimal utilization of the facility, staff have undergone specialized training to operate the integrated system, which combines CCTV surveillance, business analytics platforms, and instant reporting tools.
The establishment of this control room is a testament to BIPC’s commitment to innovation and excellence as it continues to reposition itself as a leading force in public sector enterprise management within Benue State.
With this advancement, BIPC sets a new benchmark for operational excellence in the region, signaling a forward-thinking approach to governance and sustainable development.
