In a decisive move to restore peace and protect lives, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a powerful directive, calling for an immediate and comprehensive overhaul of Nigeria’s national security strategies.
The President made this known during a high-level meeting with service chiefs at the State House in Abuja.
The urgent call to action follows a disturbing rise in violent attacks across Borno, Benue, Plateau, and Kwara States.
Addressing the alarming developments, President Tinubu declared firmly:
“Enough is enough.”
This strong statement underscores the President’s growing frustration with the persistent violence and loss of innocent lives, particularly in Borno, Benue, and Plateau States.
A Command for Change
According to the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, the President was briefed in detail for over two hours on the current state of insecurity, the death toll, and the destruction of properties in the affected areas.
“Mr. President gave us the chance to come and brief him again. It lasted very long,” Ribadu stated. “Even while he was abroad—during his visits to Paris and London—he remained actively involved, issuing directives and following developments closely.”
New Strategy, Renewed Resolve
During the meeting, President Tinubu was said to have issued fresh directives, demanding a new and effective approach to tackling the nation's security challenges. The NSA confirmed that service chiefs had already begun implementing the President's earlier orders by visiting the flashpoints of violence.
“We went to Plateau, Benue, and Borno States, as directed,” Ribadu said. “We met with the political authorities and have now delivered a comprehensive feedback to the President.”
The President’s insistence on stronger action reflects his administration’s firm commitment to securing lives and property across the nation.
National Security Takes Center Stage
This bold move signifies a new era in Nigeria’s fight against insecurity. With President Tinubu actively monitoring developments and holding the nation’s security architecture accountable, citizens can hope for a more coordinated and results-driven response to the threats facing the country.
As the NSA emphasized, the directives are not just words—they are a clear call for action.
